A Regular 10pm Bedtime May Be Good For Your Heart

Smart Watch Heart Rate
When is the best time to go to bed at night? After surveying 88,000 volunteers, British researchers found that this node seems to be between 10 and 11 o'clock, and getting sleep rest during this time is associated with a healthier heart.
The UK Biobank team believes that synchronizing sleep time with the body's biological clock could explain the link with reduced risk of heart disease and stroke.
The body's natural 24-hour rhythm is important for maintaining health and daytime alertness, and it affects things like blood pressure.
'Ideal' bedtime linked to heart health
The researchers used a watch-like wrist monitor to collect data on volunteers' sleep and waking hours for a week. The results of the analysis were published in the European Heart Journal.
The researchers then followed up the heart and circulatory system health of these volunteers for an average of 6 years, and found that a total of more than 3,000 people suffered from cardiovascular disease.
Many of these cases were among those who went to bed later than, or earlier than, the "ideal time" between 10 and 11 a.m.
The link held even after adjusting for sleep length and sleep regularity.
The researchers tried to control for other factors known to affect heart health, such as age, weight and cholesterol levels, but stressed that their study could not prove a cause-and-effect relationship between bedtime and heart disease.
Study leader Dr. Prance of the University of Exeter (also known as Exeter University, the University of Exeter) said that although they did not draw a causal conclusion, the results at least showed that early bedtime and late bedtime were more likely to interfere with the human body. biological clock, thereby adversely affecting cardiovascular health.
What is a biological clock?
The circadian rhythm (also known as the biological clock of the human body, Circadian rhythms) has a long history and has long been a recognized scientific fact. The biological clock controls and influences the body's health 24 hours a day: from metabolism to sleep and rest.
And humans aren't the only creatures with an internal circadian rhythm. Any life that relies on sunlight for energy is believed to have some kind of circadian rhythm to make the most of light and dark.
The body clock, located in the hypothalamus of the brain, acts like a conductor to send regulatory signals throughout the body at different times of the day. Sleep pressure builds up from the moment you wake up in the morning, but usually doesn't fall asleep until your body clock tells you it's time to rest.
Is it most dangerous to go to bed after 12 o'clock in the middle of the night?
"The most dangerous time (to fall asleep) is after midnight because it has the potential to reduce a person's likelihood of seeing morning light, which affects the body clock," Dr. Plance said.
In addition to the function of waking people up from deep sleep in the morning, natural light actually helps people sleep at night. Because if you can be exposed to sunlight for an hour during the day, it will activate the brain and adjust the body clock to help increase sleepiness when you go to bed at night.
The British Heart Foundation's Senior Cardiac Nurse Gibblin said the large study showed that for most people, going to bed between 10 and 11pm may be the best time for long-term heart health.
But Khibelin said it's important to remember that the study can only provide an association between bedtime and heart health, not a cause-and-effect relationship.
"Get enough sleep"
More research is needed in this area, including bedtime and sleep duration, which are factors associated with heart and circulatory disease.
Getting enough sleep is important for overall health, heart and circulatory health, Ghibelline said. Most adults should aim for seven to nine hours of sleep each night.
"Sleep is not the only factor that affects our heart health. Knowing your lifestyle through the BP Smartwatch, readings such as blood pressure and heart rate are equally important. Maintaining a healthy weight, exercising regularly, eating less salt and alcohol, and eating a balanced diet can also help. Keep your heart healthy," Khibellin said.
